Booking through Thursday #3

How much do reviews (good and bad) affect your choice of reading? If you see a bad review of a book you wanted to read, do you still read it? If you see a good review of a book you’re sure you won’t like, do you change your mind and give the book a try?

I rarely accept the opinion of reviewers. Most books I read are books that strike my fancy, stories that grab my attention or are written by authors I enjoy. Occassionally I will read books on recommendation of friends or family. But I have found that books, like with movies, are very subjective. What one person likes is not necessarily something another would enjoy.

Actually reviews often work in reverse for me. Especially if the reviews are bad! LOL Call me contrary, but if a review is terrible, I will often read it just to see what was so bad. LOL
