INSPIRATION!

I just love inspiration thoughts....sayings that incite change for the better....anything that makes me strive to be all that I can be and more.

I have hordes of books, files and cds that appeal to this side of my nature.
This is probably one of the reasons I bought the book "8 Minutes in the Morning" by Jorge Cruise. Not only does it instruct me on exercises for each morning and foods that are beneficial to my quest of health...it also starts each day with a motivational thought, or phrase.

This quote really hit home with everything in my life the last couple of months.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.
Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
By Michael Jordan, US basketball player

Makes you think....hhhhmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gopher dance!!!???!!!

Has anyone out there seen the movie "Caddyshack"?

Throughout my university years, whenever something was good, my gang would dance around like the gopher in the movie....it was hilarious to see a bunch of 20 year olds moving their butts around in a group. The image brings back great memories.

Anyway....on Tuesday I became that young soul once again.
I am sure people must of thought me insane.

Lately, my hubby has nicknamed me "droopy drawers". An endearing name he thinks but I don't...so I decided I needed a couple new pair of pants, shorts or something. I went into Reitmans and went to grab the size 13 (one size down from what I wore in the winter months) however, on a whim I decided to grab the size 11 as well.

After endouring the horrors of the change room and its humongous mirror....I left with 2 new skorts....drum roll please...in size 11.....OMG!!!

That means since changing my eating habits, my cleanse and exercising religiously....I have dropped 2 sizes on the bottom half of me....yipee!!!!!!!

See me do the Gopher Dance....shaking my smaller butt all over....LOL

It rained for 4 days off and on and then 4 days of constantly rain....this resulted in the town being put on flood alert. Even us on the hill were concerned for our basements. Thank goodness for sun....finally! Posted by Hello

Rain, rain, go away! Posted by Hello

I always teased my hubby that I wanted a mustang for my 40th birthday. This is what I got 2 months early....what a sweetie! Posted by Hello

SP5

I have finally been accepted into the close circle of friends known as SP5.
I am beyond thrilled! I love mystery, intrigue and just getting to know new people...this all said I guess it is time to fill out my questionaire for my buddy.

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
No I am not a yarn snob. I love all types of yarn but shy away from anything too scratchy if the item being made is for me....I hate hives! My reintroduction to the love of knitting and the community online that comes with it is showing me that experimenting can be fun

2. Do you spin? Crochet?
No I do not spin...have been curious about it though. My community has a local spinning group. I might just have to check it out in September (see my hubby shiver with fear)
I do crochet...not as often as knitting though.

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
On allergies are to smoke.

4. How long have you been knitting?
My grandmother taught me when I was 7 years old...so it is going on 33 years...Oh My!
Of course, I have my peaks and valleys on my enthusiasm.

Too much so...LOL
I love salty stuff too and the two together is unbeatable!

I am a crafter at heart....I scrapbook, paint, needlepoint, knit, crochet, am thinking of starting quilting, beads....you name it.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
I love most music....but lean towards soft rock, 80s, pop and country

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?
Red, red, red and oh did I say red....LOL Red is my signature color but I also like most other colors....vibrant color over pastel anyday.

Right now I am a certified reflexologist and love it....when I am actively working.
I am hoping to take aromatherpy next.

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
I don't really have a favorite wool right now. I do however love anything soft in nature and vibrant in color.

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
Once again nothing I really absolutely hate except maybe anything scratchy.

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
Anything for me...LOL I have a bad habit of knitting for everyone else.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
I don't have a favorite...as long as I am knitting..that is all that matters.

17. What are you knitting right now?
I am currently making a stole, sweater for me and cardigan for my daughter

18. What do you think about ponchos?
I love them...am searching for a pattern...would like to find one that is lacey with little fringe.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
Am starting to really like circular needles...just finishing a sweater where there is no side seams

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
I am not a needle snob...will knit on almost anything...but am interested in trying out bamboo

21. Are you a sock knitter?
Not yet...but looking for an easy pattern to try.

22. How did you learn to knit?
My grandmother taught me with a needle my grandfather cut in half and her mother's knitting bag.

23. How old is your oldest UFO?
I have a barbie blanket I made as a kid...my daughter now has it.

Not too shabby for about 60 bikers. Whoever said that bikers are scary rowdy men, obviously never knew a true biker. They have hearts of gold! Posted by Hello

This is what most of the bikes looked like...covered in donations Posted by Hello

Hopes for the future

Today is my day to be accountable for my actions...sigh
Exercise hasn't been too much of a struggle, but wise eating choices sure has been.

I was watching The View the other day....Renee Zellweger was on. They were talking about her and how she can gain for "Bridget Jones" and then loose it to become "Roxy Hart". She said she just ate how the character would eat and then she goes back to how she eats. But she wouldn't be specific...then Joy got ahold of her. She finally admitted she eats fruit/coffee for breakfast, salad and grilled salmon for lunch and the same for supper or an egg white omelette. Fridays are free to eat anything.

I must admit that as much as I would love her body, I am not sure if I am disciplined enough to eat like that...sigh I just enjoy food way too much. But maybe I could do the lunch and breakfast and then add a bit more to supper. Time to think things through.

Goal update:

What is your current weight? 170lbs
What have you done well this week? What makes you proud of you?
I stuck to my exercises for 5 of the 7 days in the week.
Made semi-good choices for meals....considering I was eating out for both days.
What could you be doing better or improving?
I need to make better meal choices and plan ahead
What is your game plan for next week?
I will eat well-balanced meals (3) plus 2 healthy snacks each day
I will exercise 7 days this week

My new treat Posted by Hello
